The Martyrdom of St Bartholomew by the kitchen window
He stands not cold, freezing by the kitchen window. We won’t let him in so he will stay standing freezing by the kitchen window, martyrdom assured, frozen in a state of abject longing. but what cause is he dying for?

Happy Bithday Jan Palach
- this painting is the first (or only so far) painting that deals with commemorating a person and their life or achievements. For those of you who are not familiar, Jan Palach was a Czech student who set himself on fire (Jan 16 1969) and subsequently died in protest to the Soviet invasion designed to inhibit of negate the liberalization of the Czech governments interpretation of communism.

The subsequent actions of the STP (Czech secret police) are particularly bizarre. In 1973 they exhumed his remains and sent them to his mother in her home village. They replaced the remains with the body of an old woman from a nursing home. His ashes were returned only in 1990.
